[VI-506] Study on measuring method of residual thickness of steel girder by 3D scanner

〇Tomohiro Yamada1, Nozomu Taniguti1, Syuta Wakasa2, Hisako Kobayashi2, Takahiro hirano2 (1.Maebashi Institute of Technology, 2.East Japan Railway Company)

Keywords: Steel structure, 3D scanner, Measurement accuracy, Maintenance

The 3D scanner used is the “Handyscan3D (laser beam cutting method)” developed by CreaFrom of Canada. In the case of using only equipment, if the size of an object such as a civil engineering structure is large, it is necessary to superimpose the measurement data, which may increase the measurement error. Report how much error occurred for each measurement method. When measuring a plane in a straight line, an error of about 0.7 mm was generated per meter. In this case, it was confirmed that the error could be suppressed to 0.0822 mm by increasing the measurement area by placing an L-shaped steel material.
