[VI-522] Follow up survey of rail bottom scratches detected at railroad crossings
Keywords:Rail scratches, flaw detection, railway crossing, corrosion
As a method of detecting flaws inside rails, flaw detection is performed as a primary inspection by our rail inspection vehicles. Inspections of rail inspection vehicles often detect graphics of bottom transverse cracks that occur sporadically in railroad crossings. If this graphic is actually a bottom crack, it may lead to breakage of the rail, so it accompanies the secondary inspection at the site and checks the rail generated when replacing the rail. A follow up survey was conducted. As a result, it was found that a step due to corrosion at the bottom of the rail was detected.
