To replace drainage ditches on the embankment slopes in large-scale repair work on expressways, a drainage ditch lid (screen) that is lightweight and has a water passage function when dead leaves are deposited was adopted with the aim of improving the efficiency of maintenance. The screen used had a vertical claw hook inside the drain and was easy to remove, but there were concerns about sliding and scattering under strong winds such as typhoons. In this paper, we report the results of a wind tunnel experiment conducted to verify the stability of a new drain ditch lid against wind loads.
