In the renovation work of JR Shibuya Station, when the Saikyo Line platform was relocated 350m north, the existing connecting girder that hindered the relocated platform was removed. The existing connecting aisle girder has a girder length of 53.0m, a girder height of 3.1m, and a weight of about 86t, and is constructed in a narrow environment where an expressway crosses just above the girder in addition to being above the railway business line. Therefore, a removal method that ensures the safety of the railway business line and does not affect the expressway was required.
