It is one of the most important issues to be prepared for large-scale inundation of underground space by torrential rains and typhoons, which have been increasing in recent years, from the viewpoint of safety. This report describes the installation of a remote control function for the Shinkawa waterproof gate on the Tozai Line as one of the measures against large-scale flooding. In order to improve the remote control function, various devices for automation were studied and designed. The method of carrying the hydraulic unit, which is a heavy equipment, is described in the construction within the time and space constraints peculiar to the subway tunnel.
