In asphalt pavement construction, proper compaction under proper temperature control is very important to build asphalt surface. Pavement construction often involves nighttime work, requiring the visual operation of heavy machinery by skilled workers. Therefore, it is expected to improve the speed of work and pavement quality if the amount of compaction can be easily determined in real time during the asphalt compaction of the pavement, in this paper, we developed an inexpensive compaction measurement system by combining a commercially available ToF module and a microcomputer and measured the compaction of the road surface.
