The authors have held workshops on bridge maintenance for municipal staffs as part of public interest activities. We have been involved in the engineering support for problems and issues that require as advanced technical judgments in the existing bridges. In this paper, we report on the existing bridges, which are located near the coast of the Sea of Japan, with the salt damage and its tendency in Mihama-cho.
