Keywords:biodiversity, soil seed bank, wetland soil, revegetation with soil seed bank, biotope
A wetland environment was restored as the biotope along the waterfront of the retention pond of Eco-Park Shimo-Yokokura of Utsunomiya City. A part of the reclaimed slope around the biotope was revegetated with soil seedbank from existing wetlands. Vegetation surveys were conducted in the revegetation area and soil seedbank sampling areas, and the plant species appeared were recorded and compared. As a result, it was observed that plant species derived from the soil seedbank were grown. It was recognized that revegetation using soil seedbank bring good results to the conservation and restoration of biodiversity, such as the growth of endemic and endangered species prefer to wetland environments.
