[P02-14] Estimation of energy gradient in the non-uniform flow using the Mayer-Peter-Muller formula

Energy gradient of open channel flow has been generally estimated with the Manning’s formula for uniform flow. Therefore, almost natural river form is non-uniform flow, it is unclear whether energy gradient of uniform flow can be applied non-uniform flow. We calculated the energy gradient of non-uniform flow using the Mayer--Peter--Muller formula. We showed that the difference between energy gradient in non-uniform flow and in uniform flow with roughness coefficient as constant is more than 50%.
