[S02B-01] Development of Impulse-Based DEM with Variable Temporal Resolution
Keywords:DEM, Impulse, Temporal resolution
The conventional DEM has an upper limit of time step mainly because of linear oscillatory dynamics. In addition, it has difficulties in deciding the parameters of particles. In this study we propose an impulse-based DEM that conforms rigid body dynamics. This model has less parameters of particles and larger upper limit of the time step than the conventional model. We verify qualitative accuracy of our proposed model by observing behavior of particles in the ball mill, and compare results obtained by the proposed model with experimental and conventional model’s results.
