[S01C-03] Vibration Characteristics of Self-Monitoring Bender Element Identified by Modal Analysis
Keywords:Bender Element, Modal Analysis, Vibration, Self-Monitoring
For the purpose of accuracy improvement of travel time determination for bender element test, vibration characteristics of a bender element has been investigated using modal analysis. Based on 25 responses of the motion directly measured on the bender element, the motion has been described by superposition of four modes with predominant frequencies below 50 kHz. By the estimated mode shapes, it has been revealed that bending motions in the width direction are dominant in the second to fourth modes, while a simple bending motion of a cantilever plate in the length direction is observed in the first mode.
