[S03D-03] Evaluation of Density and Volume Changes by Drying inside Mortar Using X-ray Computed Tomography

Many factors, such as water cement ratio, quality of aggregate and so on, influence to the dry shrinkage of concrete. For this reason, it is difficult to sufficiently understand those influence using only apparent length change measured by dial gages. In this study, internal change of mortar specimen under drying condition was investigated using X ray computed tomography (CT) images. As the results, an intensity reduction rate highly correlated with density and volume strain. In conclusion, X ray CT image is useful for estimating internal physical change of concrete specimen.
