[2C07-11-04] Numerical Study of Local Failure Area of RC Slabs Subjected to Projectile Impact

In this study, experimental and numerical investigations were conducted to estimate the local response area of an RC slab subjected to projectile impact. The kinetic energy and momentum distributions of the RC slab subjected to projectile impact was evaluated. Assuming that the velocity of the RC slab decreases linearly from the center of the RC slab, the model exhibited 20-400% errors of maximum velocity at the center of the RC slab between experiment and the simulation.
