[11011-15-05] Data assimilation simulating the construction of tunnels into a ground assuming a strain softening model (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)
Keywords:Data assimilation, Underground structures, Numerical analysis, Strain softening
To ensure safety during the construction phases of underground structures, the present and future behavior of the rock and tunnel supports must be estimated and predicted by measurements and numerical simulations. However, mechanical properties of rocks, initial and boundary conditions complicate numerical modelling considerably. The purpose of this study is to develop a numerical analysis method using data assimilation (DA) techniques. To evaluate the effectiveness of this method, DA analyses are performed using the displacements obtained from the analysis. From the results, DA updated the physical properties of the strain-softening model and improved the prediction performance of the mountain displacements.
