An automated assessment system of geometrical quality and fatigue performance of weld joint is developed. The system assumes that the weld bead is composed of a combination of 3 mathematical functions as linear line, semicircular and spline curves. The precision of the predicted results was investigated by comparing with the CAD data and the manually measure results.
