[13007-12-06] Non-Destructive and Non-Contact Identification of Deformation in Pipeline using 3D Image Analysis with Un-Steady Flow Conditions (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)
Keywords:Pipeline, Water Hammer, Water Leak, 3D Image Analysis, Deformation of Pipe Material
For the effective protection and management of pipeline system, it is necessary to evaluate not only steady flow parameters but also unsteady flow conditions. In this study, we attempted an empirical study of non-destructive and non-contact detection of leakage in a pipeline under unsteady flow conditions using 3D image analysis. The deformation characteristics of pipelines under water hammer pressure are closely related to the leakage phenomenon. The results of the image analysis method indicated a relationship between hydraulic conditions and deformation indices under different internal water pressure conditions.
