[22013-19-07] Quantification of the Contribution Ratio of Input Parameters on DEM-based Granular Flow Simulations (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)
Keywords:Granular flow, Discrete Element Method, Response surface, Contribution ratio
Although the discrete element method (DEM) has been widely employed to simulate granular flow, the effects of input parameters have not been well understood yet. To address this problem, the present study aims to quantify the contribution ratios of input parameters in granular flow simulation. A response surface of run-out distance is constructed by performing a series of DEM simulations with different combinations of four parameters (spring coefficient, friction angle between elements, coefficient of restitution, and bottom friction angle) and their contribution ratios to the distance were discussed.
