To obtain accurate numerical results of fluid flows, it is important to apply high-order schemes to the convection terms. While it was shown that QSI scheme is more accurate than 5th-oder TVD, it is time-consuming due to its flux-control procedures.
In this paper, QSI scheme is used for the incompressible 3D cavity flow in addition that the pressure Poisson equations are solved with Bi-CGSTAB method without preconditioner and with SOR or multigrid preconditioners.
As a result of thread-parallel computations, it was shown that multigrid preconditioner is effective to decrease the total elapsed time even if QSI scheme is employed.
