[23013-17-01] Evaluation of Fracture Performance of Concrete with Pre-Existing Defects based on the Digital Image Correlation Metrics (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)
Keywords:Compression stress field, Crack propagation, Concrete damage
In this research, analysis of defect influence on concrete fracture performance was carried out by DIC technique allowing non-destructive strain monitoring in the material. Such metrics as strain and displacement were selected to characterize the fracture performance of concrete with pre-existing defects and their impact on the material behaviour. The measurements were conducted in 9 points located in the same stress field of the concrete cylinder and spaced apart at regular distance. According to analysis results, the prevalent deformation, its location, type and severity can be sorted out. It can help in maintaining concrete structure integrity.
