In the field of non-destructive inspection, acoustic emission tomography (AET) is attractive to visualize the failure in the existing structure by the identified velocity distribution. In AET algorithm, the number of elastic waves is required to identify accurate elastic wave velocity distribution since the identification of elastic velocity distributions based on invers analysis. However, the required number of the parameters in which are elastic wave events used and relay points have been empirically determined. In this study, the required number of the parameters in AET is validated in numerical test in which the mode is approximated the concrete structure with failures. As results of numerical test, it is confirmed that increasing relay points contribute to improve the identification of the elastic wave velocity distributions. Moreover, in the 4 of relay points used, 625 elastic wave events are sufficient for practical AET analysis in the model.
