[24001-06-02] Influence of rail joint on dynamic response of bridge during train passage (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)

The track irregularity around rail joints increases the impact load during train passage. This study conducted numerical analysis to clarify the dynamic behavior of bridge during train passage on rail joint. The result reveals that the numerical analysis can simulate the dynamic behavior of steel bridge with rail joint in comparison of measurement. The existence of the rail joint increased dynamic deflection by 40% when train velocity is around 80 km/h.
