2018年度より宇部高専では新規カリキュラムがスタートし、1年次に化学4単位通年(A・B・C・D)を修得させている。2017年度より始まった4学期制の実施により、各学期週2回の授業の中に、水の話題を導入し、理解を深める工夫をした。2020年度まで3年間の成果を報告する。
