[SY5-4] RUNX1変異による家族性白血病研究20年の成果と今後の課題
Motomi Osato received his M.D. from Oita Medical University in 1990 and Ph.D. from Kumamoto University in 1999 (thesis supervisors, Kiyoshi Takatsuki and Norio Asou). After postdoctoral research training in Yoshiaki Ito's laboratory at Kyoto University and Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Singapore, he established his own laboratory at Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008. He is currently Associate Professor at NUS and Professor at Kumamoto University. He has been studying the molecular mechanism of leukemogenesis by RUNX and related genes, employing cell biological approaches, in vivo mouse and zebrafish systems and analysis of human leukemia samples. His best known research accomplishment is the detection of point mutations in the RUNX1/AML1 gene in leukemia patients.
