Radionuclide therapies available at present in Japan are ¹³¹I-therapy for Graves’ disease and thyroid cancer, radioimmunotherapy using monoclonal antibodies ( ⁹⁰Y) for malignant lymphoma, and ²²³Ra-therapy for bone metastasis of castration-resistant prostate cancer. Radionuclide therapy using the other kinds of radioisotopes has clearly fallen behind that of overseas countries. The present situation of radionuclide therapy that will be introduced to Japan in future is discussed in this symposium.
