脳機能を評価する神経生理学的検査である脳波に関して、精神疾患との関連を中心に説明する。脳波は侵襲が少なく低コストで、時間解像能が高いという強みを持つことから、精神疾患の診断、病態解明において更なる発展、応用の可能性があると考えられる。
