Professor Zofia Anna Nawrocka (formerly Michalewska) received her medical degree at Medical University of Lodz.
She gained her professional experience during internships abroad, among others at the Ophthalmology Departments in Bremen, Munich and Rostock. In 2017, she was awarded the academic title of Professor of Medical Sciences by the President of Poland.
From 2015 to 2017 she worked as head at the Department of Ophthalmology at the Karol Jonscher Hospital in Lodz, Poland. She is currently working at a private ophthalmology clinic "Jasne Blonia" in Lodz and at the NAWROCCY Ophthalmology Outpatient Clinic.
Professor Zofia Anna Nawrocka specialises in vitreoretinal surgery and optical coherence tomography. Published more than 120 papers mostly focused on novel retinal diagnostics and innovative surgical techniques. Received several awards on international congresses, among them Rhett Buckler Awards for surgical movies. Her main focus of scientific interest are macular holes, lamellar macular holes and diabetic macular oedema.
Privately, she enjoys skiing, snowboarding and swimming. She is interested in ancient history, sightseeing and reading books.
