[III-JCKAP6-1-3] Aortic root dilatation in pediatric and congenital cardiac diseases

Jae Gun Kwak (Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul)

Dilatation of the aortic root structures or ascending aorta is often observed in patients with various congenital heart diseases, especially cono-truncal anomalies, as well as in patients with genetic problems that frequently affect the vasculatures, such as Marfan, Loyes-Dietz, or Turner syndrome. In this presentation, we briefly review some literature and studies about the incidence, clinical outcomes, and experience of the dilation rate of the aortic structures in various pediatric and congenital heart disease patients.
