氏は,熱分解反応焼結プロセスに着目し,それを多孔質セラミックスの構造制御に用いる目的で,反応プロセスや生成物の緻密な解析と分析を行い,制御要因を明らかにした.また途上国などでのニーズの高い水質浄化フィルターへの応用の実証的基礎研究も行った.粉末冶金技術を独創的な観点から深化し,発展させ,また実用化にも目を向けた研究は学会の進歩に寄与し,また関連業界へのシーズ技術提供として大いに貢献した.
