Every year the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN) have been accepting applications for the JSPN Fellowship Award, which is presented to early-career psychiatrists from around the world. The purpose of this symposium is to discuss how difficult cases are treated in late-life depression.

Q1.When this patient comes to you, what diagnoses would you include in your differential, and what tests would you perform?
Please include comorbidities.
Q2.How many older people live alone in your country?
Q3.To what extent are loneliness, insecurity, and poverty among older people a social problem in your country?
Q4.What systems exist in your country to support these people?

There will be discussion on the differences and similarities of the treatment for the case and broader perspectives about various countries will be obtained from the discussion.
