[1Cp03] Competition between adsorbate-adsorbate coupling and adsorbate-substrate coupling in the superstructure formation of molecule layers

In the formation of molecules which have halogen atoms, hydrogen and halogen bonds are important to determine the molecular crystal and films. In this study, we carried out STM measurement of adsorbed 1,3,5-tris(4-bromophenyl)benzene molecules on Si(111) (√3x√3)-Ag and multilayer Ag films. From the measurement, molecular films with various structures are obtained. We discuss the formation mechanisms of the films.
