[3Aa11] Beyond 5G R&D Strategy of Japan for the next generation platform

Beyond 5G or 6G is expected to be a fundamental communication platform for all industries and societies in the years of 2030s. To promote concerned activities in terms of enhancement of competitiveness in the future global market, MIC released “Beyond 5G strategy plan” in June 2020, especially including R&D promotions in the targeted technology areas for development of fundamental technologies within 5 years. Japanese government launched “Beyond 5G R&D Fund” in March 2021, to support strategic R&D projects by academic, private and public entities/institutions. MIC will accelerate concerned R&D as well as activities of intellectual properties and standardization for Beyond 5G.
