[3P27S] Observation of carrier transfer in Pt nanoparticle modified GaN-photocatalyst for water splitting by in-situ ATR-SEIRAS
Water splitting photocatalysts generate excited electrons and holes by absorbing sunlight, and the generated excited carriers migrate to the catalyst surface and participate in the water splitting reaction. However, there is a lack of knowledge on the excited carrier transfer in photocatalysts, and its observation is desired. In this study, we used the Attenuated Total Reflection Surface-Enhanced Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy (ATR-SEIRAS) method to track the change in the local potential of the Pt co-catalyst under UV light irradiation, and observed the transfer of excited carriers from the GaN photocatalyst to the Pt co-catalyst by using this change.
