Flotation is one of the main beneficiation methods at present, widely used in the sorting of various metallic minerals, non-metallic minerals and so on. The key to the effectiveness of flotation is the selective adsorption of the collectors. It can selectively adsorb on the target minerals, making the mineral particles hydrophobic and facilitating bubble attachment. The separation of sulfide minerals has always been a difficult problem and has attracted a great deal of interest. Therefore, it is essential to improve flotation efficiency through the exploration of appropriate collectors and study of flotation behaviors.
Recently, we have synthesized six chemical compounds used as new collectors and their better flotation properties for chalcopyrite, gold sulfide ores and copper sulfide ores than conventional collector xanthate were confirmed. In this study, for more in-depth discussion of collectors and their floatabilities, the flotation behavior of six chemical compounds used as new collectors was invetigated by flotation experiments and analytical approach.
