2018年に成立、2019年に施行される脳卒中・循環器病対策基本法は、国レベルで脳卒中ならびに循環器病対策を推進するものであり、世界に類を見ない取り組みである。脳卒中を主要対象疾患の一つとする日本神経学会にとっても重要な法律である。本シンポジウムでは、本法成立までの経過、現状、今後の取り組みを概説し、日本神経学会の役割と課題とを明らかにしたい。
