[NFS-02-2] パーキンソン病の遺伝子治療
Dr. Shin-ichi Muramatsu is a professor of the Division of Neurological Gene Therapy, Center for Open Innovation at Jichi Medical University (JMU). He is also a visiting professor of the Center for Gene & Cell Therapy at The Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from JMU. He was a visiting associate at the NIH in the USA from 1995 to 1997. His research interest is gene therapies for neurological diseases. Using adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors, his group has been developing gene therapies for Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinocerebellar ataxia, and epilepsy. His expertise has contributed to a clinical trial of gene therapy for AADC deficiency in Taiwan and Japan. He received the Award for Excellent Research (2001) and the TAKARA Bio Award (2011) from the Japan Society of Gene Therapy. He is one of the founding members of Gene Therapy Research Institution Co., Ltd.
