Dr. Ryo Yamasaki is currently an associate professor at the Department of Neurology, Neurological institute, graduate school of medical sciences, Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan.
He graduated from Kyushu University Faculty of Medicine in 2000. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2008. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA, from 2010 to 2012. After he returned to Kyushu University as an assistant professor, he engaged in clinical neurology and basic research. His research interest is in the pathomechanisms of various neurological disorders through microglia/macrophage dysfunctions.
