[HT-02-5] CSF tau biomarkers in primary tauopathies
Dr. Chihiro Sato is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine. She obtained her PhD at the University of Tokyo (Supervisor: Dr. Takeshi Iwatsubo) and after postdoctoral training, joined the laboratory of Dr. Randall Bateman and the faculty in the Department of Neurology at Washington University. Dr. Sato’s research goal is to understand the pathophysiology of tauopathies through tau metabolism in humans and in cellular models. She recently identified tau cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers that can identify primary tauopathies. Her publication (Horie et al., 2022) earned PIA Publication of the Year Award 2023 (ISTAART / Alzheimer’s Association).
