Dr. Pramod Kumar Pal is working as Professor of Neurology and program director of the post-doctoral Fellowship Program in Movement Disorders at the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India. After obtaining MBBS, MD (Medicine) and DM (Neurology) degrees from India, he did fellowship in Movement Disorders at Vancouver and Human Motor Physiology at Toronto. His areas of interest include Parkinson’s Disease, ataxias, hyperkinetic movement disorders, rare movement disorders, genetics and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. He has more than 400 publications.

Dr. Pal is the Founding Secretary of Movement Disorders Society of India, past President and Treasurer of Indian Academy of Neurology, past Secretary of MDS-AOS and Neuromodulation Society (India). Currently he is President of Parkinson’s Disease Society of Karnataka, Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Movement Disorders, Chair of Education Committee of IPMDS and Chair of Infection Related Movement Disorders Study Group of IPMDS. He serves as member of Rare Movement Disorders Study Group, Rating Scales Education and Training Program Committee, Neurophysiology Task Force, Movement Disorders in Asia Study Group, Post-Stroke Movement Disorders Study Group, Ataxia Study Group, Education Committee of IAPRD and Parkinson’s Research Alliance of India.
