Dr. Hiroyuki Ishiura graduated from Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tokyo in 2002. After engaging in clinical training of internal medicine and neurology, he graduated from Graduate School of Medicine, Division of Neuroscience, the University of Tokyo and obtained a Ph.D. degree in 2011 with a thesis paper on genetic analysis of hereditary spastic paraplegia. After he worked as a post-doc with a Research Fellowship on Young Scientists, he became an assistant professor of Department of Neurology at the University of Tokyo Hospital from 2012. He took up a professorship at Department of Neurology, Okayama University in 2022. His research interest is neurogenetics.
