A broadband Si waveguide loop mirror utilizing a curved directional coupler (CDC) was realized for application to an external cavity type III-V/SOI hybrid laser. Reflectance with broad avelength characteristics was obtained while controlling reflectance value by varying the CDC oupling angle.
