[HEDS12-04] Relativistic particle acceleration in counter propagating Alfvén waves

In our recent study, through 1D simulations, it has been shown that that when the amplitude of the two counter-propagating Alfven waves exceeds critical amplitude any particles irreversibly gain relativistic energy within a short time regardless of their initial energy. In this study, we also investigate the particle acceleration process in 2D Alfven turbulence where the time evolution of parametric instability could be different from that in 1D.
