[HEDS7-02(Invited)] Investigating ion acceleration at radiation pressure driven shocks using mid-IR lasers

We will discuss recent experiments using a high power mid-IR laser to irradiate near-critical density plasma. We investigated radiation pressure and collisionless shockwave acceleration, laser channelling, and the formation of Weibel-like electron beam filaments.
