Symposium
Thu. Mar 26, 2020 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM [Room T] Sakura (1F)
Organizers: Mako Kamiya (Grad Sch Med, Univ Tokyo), Shigeki Kiyonaka (Grad Sch Eng, Nagoya Univ)
Chemical tools have played important roles for visualization and control of biological phenomena in cells and tissues. At the same time, the application scope of these tools has been diversifying and tight collaboration among researchers with different research background is increasingly important. In this symposium, cutting edge scientists in the field of chemical biology who are trying to elucidate biological phenomena by using their own chemical tools or approaches will give talks as symposists or participate as organizers in order to introduce their latest research results and to discuss future prospects. Specifically, we will have talks about fluorescent probes for visualizing biomolecules in living cells (Dr. Uchinomiya and Dr. Kamiya), protein knockdown techniques (Prod. Ishikawa), control of artificial organelle by phase separation (Prof. Tsukiji), clearing chemistry of brain tissues (Prof. Tanaka), and Prof. Kiyonaka, a leading researcher in chemogenetics, and Dr. Kamiya will promote discussion as organizers.
