Academic communication based on the Internet-based IT begins with the exchange of e-mails, and has evolved while changing its form to the establishment of a homepage, the distribution of electronic journals, and the exchange of information via SNS. In addition, open access and open data have been promoted for publication based on journals, and academic communication among researchers is getting closer and more global. While easy communication has spread and the volume has increased, efforts to maintain the quality of research cannot be neglected.
In this symposium, trends in the activities to promote open access of papers, responses to research integrity for its content and data, changes in medical research communication by using SNS, etc., designation methods for copyrights and use of copyrighted works in open systems, etc. We will discuss future medical research communication approaches by giving lectures from related parties and discussing current situation and future proposals.
