[S45] Utilization and application for medical big data to clinical setting

Sat. Mar 28, 2020 1:45 PM - 3:45 PM [Room B] Room B-1 (2F)

Organizers: Yoh Takekuma (Dept Pharm, Hokkaido Univ Hosp), Kenji Momo (Dept Pharm, Showa Univ Hosp)

In recent years, medical big data has been utilized rapidly. Medical records have been digitized in the last 20 years in medical institutions in Japan, and medical information is being accumulated at each facility. However, for example, when performing factor analysis related to adverse events, a sufficient number of cases cannot be often obtained only by their own facility. In such a case, medical big data (adverse drug event report database, database of health insurance claims, etc.) is useful, but there are few opportunities for pharmacists to understand methods for using medical big data.
The aim of this symposium is for clinical pharmacists to understand the possibilities of medical big data more deeply and to educate them on the limitations and significant points in research. This time, we summarized medical big data-related information in Japan and overseas, some big data researches in medical settings, points to be aware of when using adverse drug event report database, cases of big data analysis based on AI technology, and legal environment related to big data. Four experts will speak from various viewpoints.
