[S15] Useful and cutting-edge tools for protein chemistry

Sun. Mar 28, 2021 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM [Room D] Oral Presentation D (Online)

Organizer: Hino Nobumasa (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Osaka Univ.), Umehara Takashi (RIKEN)

In the field of pharmaceutical science, proteins are not only the target molecules of almost all drugs, but are also positioned as molecules that can be drugs in their own right. In recent years, various techniques for protein chemistry research have been actively developed, enabling the identification of drug target proteins by affinity probes and precise functionalization of proteins by bio-orthogonal modification methods. These technologies can maximize their potential only after they are beneficial to many researchers outside the field of expertise. In this symposium, researchers specializing in chemistry and biochemistry will come together to introduce state-of-the-art technologies, such as photo-affinity probes, drug target discovery tools, and site-directed introduction of non-natural amino acids into proteins, with examples of what applications have been made possible. The lecture on protein chemistry research from the perspective of chemistry and biochemistry will provide an opportunity to promote interdisciplinary collaborative research through discussions with pharmaceutical researchers from diverse backgrounds.

シンポジウム趣旨説明:樋野 展正(阪大院薬) (9:30 AM - 9:35 AM)

総括:梅原 崇史(理研) (11:25 AM - 11:30 AM)
