In the recent pandemic of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), a wide variety of responses have been made on site at educational and medical institutions such as university, hospital and dispensing pharmacy. Among others, pharmacists have been strongly required to play various roles for supporting patients in cooperation with other healthcare professionals on medical fronts in addition to response in educational fields.
However, there are many significantly difficult problems to cope with the infection which has not been clarified yet in many aspects. Therefore, the symposium has been organized trying to clarify roles of pharmacist in coping with COVID-19. In the symposium, pharmacists and teachers in department of pharmacy explain about infection control and drug therapy performed in hospital, pharmacy and university. In addition, a doctor familiar with infection field explains about diagnosis, treatment and infection control of COVID-19 as a whole.
The lecturers describe from each individual perspective while referring to the latest evidences, outcomes, researches and education (including practical training). We intend to make it a good opportunity to consider roles of pharmacists in coping with COVID-19.
