[B-6-72] Resolving network insensitivity of weigh value in RTO computation of COCOA
Keywords:IoT、Congestion Control、CoAP
Congestion is a critical problem when resource bounded devices of IoT network communicate. While IoT devices
transfer data using CoAP protocol [1], a default non-adaptive congestion control (CC) method is followed.
COCOA, with latest version [2], is a standard alternative CC method which incorporates network dynamics using
round trip time (RTT). However, the constant weight values in the computation restrict the adaptability of
retransmission time out (RTO) and induces transmission delay. In this paper, we propose a new method, Flexi COCOA, to introduce network sensitive weight value to improve the performance of COCOA. Our evaluations show that the proposed method reduces transmission delay to improve QoS of monitoring applications.
