[H-3-01 (Invited)] Quantum Dot Lasers on Silicon for Monolithic Photonic Integrated Circuits
InAs quantum dot lasers are a promising solution for fully monolithic light sources integrated with silicon photonics chips. We present methods to address the fundamental materials science challenges of lattice mismatch and thermal expansion mismatch to produce high-quality lasers on silicon and show progress toward integrating these lasers with on-chip waveguides and photonic integrated circuit elements on 300mm wafers.
