We aim to enable people to feel as if they’re walking at a distant place without moving their legs. Disabled and/or elderly people cannot freely walk around because they have difficulties in walking or need somebody’s help. They are frustrated by its inconvenience. To improve their quality of life, we are developing a virtual walking generator that users can look around any scenes captured by an omnidirectional videocamera and experience a real-time walking at a distant place. Perceived self body size depends on walking pattern for shaking the motion images. This system may enable to enhance walking senation with appropriate motion pattern for users.
